Halftones (or screen-tones as they are sometimes called) can be found when looking closely at printed material. The effect occurs when various-sized dots of ink are overlaid to build up color and tone. This iconic look was not initially designed to be a feature but over time it’s become a classic design aspect in its own right. And now, with The Artifex Forge’s Halftone Brushes you can ‘paint’ with thie halftone effect to create beautiful designs and illustrations in Adobe Illustrator!

Here’s what’s included in the pack:
- The Illustrator Brushes
Scatter Halftone brushes – (The first 6 in the preview) Perfect for a messy screen-tone look. By adjusting the settings you can change the size, scatter and rotation or even make them pressure-sensitive if you have a graphics tablet.
Line Halftone vector brushes – for a neater finish. These are basically pattern brushes but without the corner and end tiles. They distribute the screen tones evenly along a stroke with minimal distortion.
A pressure-sensitive version of the Illustrator brushes is also included for tablet users. This works with Adobe Illustrator CS5 – CC.
- The Illustrator Patterns
These halftone patterns are supplied in black but you can adjust the colors using the ‘Recolor artwork’ menu (Edit/Edit Colors/Re-color Artwork).
