How was the pack made?
I painstakingly scanned hundreds of dollars worth of real glass samples some of which I salvaged myself (this was no easy feat!). These were cleaned up and converted into seamless, repeat, texture patterns. They were then combined with adjustable lighting effects and saved as one-click styles which enable the user to transform shapes and type instantly and easily. I also created a variety of leading brushes so, you can add authentic-looking outlines to your designs.

Another reviewer asked about changing the leading color; it is possible (I've figured it out). The real trick to working with this stained glass kit is to follow the instructions regarding setting up different shapes and layers, and then to make sure you have the correct objects (not layers) selected, and the correct tools, to achieve the effect you want.
The only information I wanted when contemplating the purchase that wasn't totally clear to me was whether you can change the glass colors. The answer is yes, sort of. That is, the styles do come in specific colors, but there are a lot of choices so you can probably find something close to what you want. Then, if you play around with adjustments, it is possible to alter the colors. I need to teach myself more about this. You can also, of course, color any shapes you like with the usual color fill tools rather than using the included glass styles, and thanks to the leading style (if you've applied it), it still looks like stained glass thanks to the shading etc.
I was so pleased with the stained glass kit that I bought several more of Artifex Forge's kits. They all come with clear instructions and reference images, which is a big help. I'm really happy with this kit, and with this creator. Thanks!
